Simon Lusk

Simon Lusk lives in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand and fly fishes every day he can during the fishing season. He shows more commitment to the upland game season, and has hunted every day of the season since 2011.

During the difficult months of April & September when fishing and upland is not possible, Simon shoots deer for the freezer and rabbits and hares off the roof of his Isuzu D-Max. He harvests as much fly tying material as he can, and has a fly tying bench set up in his office so he can tie flies and talk to clients at the same time.

Simon spends a lot of time fine tuning his fishing and shooting gear, and is very tough on gear. If it does not work perfectly he disposes of it, being unwilling to miss a shot or lose a fish due to poor gear choice.

When not hunting or fishing Simon consults to a range of political and lobbying clients, and is the Chairman of Laver & Wood, a custom made cricket bat manufacturer based in Hawkes Bay. He as previously worked in venture capital & private wealth management, and as a sales manager and business advisor to fast growth companies.

Simon lives with his fiancé Kirsten and his three black Labs, Mabo, Bruce & Dave.
